Migraines and Headaches*

In the treatment of patients with migraines, HBO therapy has been shown to reduce pressure significantly and stop acute attacks of migraine, lessen migraine headache pain and prevent cluster headaches.

HBO therapy was also used in the treatment of patients with atherosclerosis, cerebral palsy, intracranial pressure, headache, and brain and spinal cord injury. The conclusion of these studies showed, in part a direct relationship between the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy with the improved cerebral oxygenation and clinical improvement in all cases.
Published research at the University of Pittsburgh found that 90% of migraine patients experienced virtually complete relief of pain when treated with HBO therapy.

Research Summary on Migraine Headaches
